Great Pizza place. Love their Margherita, which is not absurdly overpriced like in any other pizza parlor in the area. Wife's swear by their Linguini and Clams in White Sauce. Great food, tried it a couple times and the quantity/quality/taste has been consistent, lots of places nowadays you need to be lucky and get there the right day to get decent food, which I found quite irritating. Definetly my new hot spot for Pizza.

Not a bad place for pizza!! However overpriced. A cheeseburger, cheese fries, and a soda for $20?! Insane! However the pizza is pretty good, probably the best in the area! Also they always have some sale or coupon going.

Tomato pie is really the only pizza I like here....but it is very good, which is the main reason for four stars and not something lower, like two stars. Forgetting about the tomato pie for a sec, all of their other pizza is kind of bland, and they barely use sauce. Come on, can you spare the sauce??? I feel like I'm eating cheesy bread. Their paninis are pretty good - the bread is great, but the chicken....not so much. It's greasy and bland - they don't have that nice, chargrilled chicken - they pretty much throw it on that heated slab and call it day. Again, no grill, no flavor....just bland and greasy. I realize I wrote mostly bad stuff here and yet gave them four stars, but they do have other good items. Their dishes look good, and they have quality caesar salads (they don't fill it with stalky lettuce, but instead give nice, green leafy pieces). And again, tomato pie pizza and panins are good.

Friendly, warm, and efficient with a nice homey mom and pop feeling to the customer service. I tried the margharita and the vegetable pizza slices of which the margharita was strongly the winner. Perfect stop for a quick lunch. Clean and spacious with lots of tables. Thank you yelp for leading me here. My favorite thing about this place is definitely the service and the margharita pizza. They have a lot of things on the menu, too but I was just looking for a quick lunch bite.

Pretty overpriced for what it is. Pizza is tasty but a small Caesar salad, a pizza, and a couple of sodas was $35. You can get a great pizza at either of the sit-down Italian restaurants around the corner for less than $10.

Gio's just opened recently, so I had to give it a try. While there is virtually no ambiance to this restaurant (it is in the Giant strip mall in Maple Glen, across from Maple Glen Pizza), the food was surprisingly good. Awesome, actually. I ordered a Hawaiian Rustica pizza. I was really pleasantly surprised. It was really good. MUCH BETTER than Maple Glen Pizza. No comparison. I look forward to trying more items from the menu. Buona Fortuna, Gio's Pizza Rustica. You make really good food. Ciao

I love the cheesesteak hoagies here. They remind me of the simple, high quality ones I used to get as a kid at the local pizza place. The best in the area.

This place is awesome! I am very picky when it comes to my pizza. Gio and his staff knock it out of the park. This place reminds me of the days as a kid going to get pizza listening to the guys speak Italian as I anxiously wait for my fresh pie. They have several different varieties of pizza. My advice is to go with their regular plain cheese pie. After all, If its truly great pizza, you should not need any toppings. They use Grande cheese which is the absolute best. Their sauce is amazing. When you bite into a slice there is an explosion of robust and savory flavors! The crust is so crispy, and chewy, and so tasty, you will not let it go to waste. I order a large and will not stop eating until the pie is gone. (IT TASTES THAT GREAT)!

Just as everyone else said...the pizza is good. Expensive, but good. I have also had side orders there- didn't work out so well. I ordered mozz sticks to go. When I got back to work there wasn't any cheese in the sticks anymore. You can't tell me that they didn't notice all the sticks were already exploded when the put them in the take out container.

Best pizza in town! The nona pizza, with peppers and sausage, is truly exceptional.

This is as close to authentic Italian pizza as I've had in the USA. Family friendly service!

Rude and expensive-go to Maple Glen Pizza or Pizza Hut; not worth. The guy with the moustache doesn't know the prices and is ignorant to good customer service.

I have to admit the pizza is good. However, the people are rude. I called for a pickup order - rude on the phone and worse when I got there. The young man with the large sideburns is the rudest one. I hesitate going there even though the pizza is good. Too bad the service doesn't equal the product.

Incredible pizza, the rustica is hands down my favorite pizza. The staff is very friendly and the food is simply amazing. I drive 15-20 minutes to get to this store and it is worth my time. If you are tired of super greasy pizza, I would definitely recommend this to you!

Love this place. Great vegetable stromboli. Sandwiches are ok but I'm not of fan of the rolls. The margherita and fiorentina pizzas are excellent, and I enjoy trying a slice of some of the various creative pizzas they have. Other posters have mentioned that workers are rude but I've found them to be incredibly friendly and helpful. Hope this place is around a long time!

Called ahead and ordered the Margherita and Fiorentina Rustica pizza takeout. Didnt expect it to be so big even though it was stated on the menu. Enjoyed both and still tasted great after reheating leftovers in the oven the next day.

The new place for Pizza, if you like thin crust pizza and almost any topping you can think of , this is the place to go. I will not get Pizza anywhere else. I have to drive a little further then I did but it is well worth the extra 10 minutes. And you don't have to get a whole pizza--go- sit- eat enjoy. Great Great Place

I went to Gio's today for lunch. The place was pretty busy and they had a good selection of pizza to choose from, both flat "rustic" pizza and the traditional round pizza. I tried 3 kinds of the rustic pizza - mushroom, veggie/sausage, and Margherita. I was surprised by the price. 3 slices cost almost $9, and I did not even get a drink. It was good but $3 per slice is pretty steep for the size of the slices. I can get the lunch special at my regular pizza place for $5 and get more food and a drink (and possibly better pizza too). I did like the pizza, it is very good. Some people have commented that the employees are not very friendly. I would say they were neither friendly or un-friendly.

I was thinking about how best to describe Gio's pizza and the word that came to mind is "authentic". The only problem is that I really don't have any idea what authentic Italian pizza is like. I could describe it "fancy" or "gourmet" but that would imply pizza with octopus and kale, which isn't what they serve at Gio's. The restaurant is run by what appears to be an extended family of Italians. A lot of their business is take out, but my family has only eaten-in. The small seating area is nicer than at most pizza shops. The thing that I like especially about Gio's is that I can get a meal salad and expect it to have very fresh, high quality ingredients. The place is busy and enough that and the owners care about the food enough that they're not going to serve you limp lettuce and hard tomatoes. My kids get the spaghetti and meatballs. I guess the place works for my family because it is a place that we can go out to eat that is nicer that the typical hot, greasy pizza shop, a place where we can each get something that we'll be happy with, and because it's quick and easy with the kids.

Excellent.. This is the pizza you get in the best pizzerias in Italy.. Thin crust, high quality ingredients. A little expensive but that's the cost of using high quality ingredients. If you like dominos or pizza loaded with cheese and sugar filled sauces, this isn't for you. if you like thin crust and authentic taste, you won't find better in the Delaware valley. Real Italian chefs ..nice menu beyond pizza as well

Gio's is a new addition to the Maple Glen Shopping center and is owned by the same people that run the Jarrettown Hotel. As stated in other reviews their Pizza is THIN crust. (I haven't tried the pizza yet) On this visit my girlfriend and I split a Grilled Chicken Panini with honey mustand and Caeser salad. The salad was a good size for $5.95 and the Panini was tasty. The bread was fresh and the chicken was very moist. Although Gio's was clean and reasonably priced they didn't have anything that makes me want to make a special trip to go there.

Gio's is a great addition to the neighborhood. Owner is very friendly and accommodating. The soups are made fresh daily, the pasta fagioli is light but hearty and delicious. The "rustica" style pizza is fantastic, thin crust with crunchy edges, very large and very unique flavors and combinations. They have all the familiar stand bus as well as choices including arugula and prosciutto and rosemary potatoes. We love the grandma's which has peppers, sausage and onion. If they delivered, we'd be more frequent customers, but this is our go to for the best local pizza!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
